Remo Gautschi is Deputy Director-General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He finished his studies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, followed by a post-graduate diploma on Structural and Spatial Planning.After significant private sector experience, Remo Gautschi started working with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation with an assignment at the cooperation office in Kathmandu/Nepal. Following various posts focussed on South East Asia and the CIS, he was promoted to Deputy Director-General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation at the rank of Ambassador, in 2001. Remo Gautschi was for many years a member of the Board of the International Centre for Mountain Development in Nepal (ICIMOD). From 2003 - 2005 he served as chairperson of the International Water Management Institute IWMI (a CGIAR centre) in Sri Lanka.

Dr Wendy Craik (Australia)
Dr Wendy Craik started as a Commissioner with the Productivity Commission in May 2009. Her previous position was Chief Executive of the Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC) for just over 4 years until the end of 2008. Prior to this Wendy was President of the National Competition Council, Chair of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority and Chair of the National Rural Advisory Council. Other former positions include Chief Executive Officer of Earth Sanctuaries Ltd, a publicly listed company specialising in conservation and eco tourism, Executive Director of the National Farmers Federation, and Executive Officer of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. She has also worked as a consultant for AcilTasman Consulting. Wendy is a member of the Boards of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal,  Dairy Australia and is Deputy Chancellor at the University of South Australia. She has been a member of a variety of other Boards and advisory councils.Wendy was awarded an AM in 2007 for her contribution to natural resource management and rural policy.

Dr Stephen J. Hall was Head of Fish Biology at the Scottish Office Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries Dept Marine Laboratory in Aberdeen, before taking up a position as Professor of Marine Biology at Flinders University, South Australia and Director of the Lincoln Marine Science Centre. In 2000 he became Director/CEO of the Australian Institute of Marine Science, before moving to Penang in 2004 to take up his position as Director General of the WorldFish Center. He has published extensively on the structure and functioning of marine ecological systems, focussing especially on the effects of natural and human disturbance. This work has recently culminated in a book on the global effects of fishing on marine communties and ecosytems.Dr Hall has served on numerous national and international committees and is a past chairman of the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) Working Group on the Ecosystem Effects of Fishing Activities - a group that provides advice to ICES and the European Commision on fishing effects and other aspects of coastal zone management. He was also a member of a US National Research Council Panel on the Effects of Trawling. In addition to these activities, he has acted as a consultant to the United Arab Emirates and the European Commission and is a recent recipient of a Pew Fellowship in Marine Conservation.

Dato’ Ahamad Sabki bin Mahmood was appointed as the Director General of Fisheries, Department Of Fisheries Malaysia on 7 August 2010. He has wide experiences in the field of fisheries prior to his appointment as the Deputy Director General Of Fisheries (Development) namely in Fisheries Research, State Director of Fisheries, Senior Officer of Development Division, Senior Officer of Communication Unit, Senior Officer of Planning Division, Senior Officer Of Marine Extension Unit, Director Of Planning and Development Division, Director Of Management and Resources Protection Division, Director Of Extension and Training Division and Deputy Director General Of Fisheries (Operational). He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 1978 with Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics and from University Of Queensland, Australia in 1987 with Master of Agriculture Studies in Extension and Management.

Vimala Menon is a Chartered Accountant, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.She qualified as a Chartered accountant in 1981 and after a brief time in practice joined Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON Berhad) in 1984 and served as the Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services of EON Berhad until 2007 serving at various times on the Investment, Remuneration and Executive Committees of EON Berhad. She was subsequently appointed as the Director of Finance and Corporate Services of Proton Holdings from 2008 to 2009. She has had significant experience serving on the Board of Directors as well as member/Chairman of the Audit/Remuneration and Nomination Committees of several Malaysian and international companies including amongst others, EON Berhad, EON Bank Berhad, Cold Storage (M) Bhd, EON CMG Life Assurance Bhd, Cycle & Carriage Limited(now Jardine Cycle& Carriage), MCL Land Limited and PT Astra International TBK, Indonesia.She is currently a member and the Audit Committee Chairman of the Boards of Cycle and Carriage Berhad and Petronas Chemicals Group Berhad, as well as being a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committees of both these companies.

Prof. Wakhungu is the Executive Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) in Nairobi, Kenya. ACTS is a Nairobi-based international inter-governmental science, technology, and environmental policy think-tank that generates and disseminates new knowledge through policy analysis, capacity building, and outreach. Prof. Wakhungu’s research interests include science, technology and innovation; agriculture and food security; biodiversity and natural resource management; energy and water security; and gender issues in science and technology. She has published widely in these fields. Prof. Wakhungu serves on several national and international boards, task-forces, and committees. These include the African Conservation Centre (ACC), the International Assessment of Agricultural Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD), the GoDown Arts Centre, the Institute for Security Studies (ISS), the Lemelson Foundation, the Sustainable Agriculture Centre for Research Extension and Development (SACRED) in Africa, and the World Bioenergy Association.Prof. Wakhungu holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from St. Lawrence University in New York, a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Geology from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and a PhD in Energy Resources Management from Penn State University.

Axel Wenblad a Swedish national is born 1949. His educational background is in limnology and chemistry. He has worked in several organisations in Sweden and internationally including FAO. He has also held senior positions in Volvo and Skanska, the latter an international construction company. He has also been member of various international organisations including World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). He has also served on the Board of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. He was a Director General for the Swedish Board of Fisheries until June 2011 and he is now serving as senior advisor at various organizations.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Fathy Osman
 
Prof Dr Mohamed Fathy Osman (Egypt)
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Fathy Osman is the President of the Agricultural Research Centre and Chairman of the General Authority for Fish Resources Development in Egypt. He holds the position of Professor, Chairman of Fish Production Branch, and Department of Animal Production in the Faculty of Agriculture at Ain Shams University, Egypt. He is a member of the advisory committee of the Faculty of Sciences and other educational committees at Ain Shams University.
 
In addition to holding many important positions in university, government agency and/or research institutions, Prof. Dr. Osman is a member of the Higher Committee of Recreation of Sinai – Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. He has had memberships in professional societies, i.e. The Egyptian Society of Animal Production, the Egyptian Society of Feeds and Feeding, the German Egyptian Arab Region Net (GEAR), the Egyptian Aquaculture Society (EgAS) and the Egyptian Society of Animal Behavior. Prof. Dr. Osman is Coordinator of the Fishery Development National Project, a project under the Sustainable Agricultural Development Strategy Towards 2030.
 
He has published widely in the fields of animal production, nutrition physiology, and fishery management both in English and Arabic.
