WorldFish and BRAC sign Memorandum of Understanding in Bangladesh

Monday, 12 December 2011 - A Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) Learning Centre, Gulshan, between BRAC and WorldFish. The aim of the Memorandum of Understanding is to implement fish-related activities for the BRAC organized farming household under the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia Project in Bangladesh (CSISA-BD). Such activities would include training, demonstrations and field days with the intent on improving aquaculture-agriculture technologies in the southern hubs of Khulna and Barisal.
 
BRAC and WorldFish are currently working in partnership on the Change Enabling Project (G5) of the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water on Food (CPWF). WorldFish will look to expand its reach through Bangladesh to support the wider dissemination of improved aquaculture-agriculture technologies in other hubs, like Faridpur.
 
Dr. Mahabub Hossain, Executive Director of BRAC and Mr. William J Collis, Director of WorldFish South Asia has signed this MOU from the respective Institutions.
