Research Fellow

A.B.M. Mahfuzul Haque is currently working in WorldFish Bangladesh office as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Focal Point and M&E Specialist in the ECOFISH-Bangladesh project. He joined WorldFish in 2007 as a PhD scholar and has continued in current position. He has completed his PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from Wageningen University, The Netherlands and diploma in Community Based Development from Coady International Institute, St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia, Canada.  He has obtained his B.Sc. and MS degrees in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He is trained in the areas of social and economic aspects of fisheries and aquaculture, livelihood, microeconomics and quantitative economics by working in WorldFish and non-government organizations. He also has developed his expertise on agribusiness, finance, and production economics, monitoring and evaluation and ex-ante and ex-post impact evaluation.  His experience in monitoring and research in fish production, household income, small farm business, and technology adoption in relation to farm household performance spans over 12 years with CGIAR. As a Monitoring and Evaluation leader, he will continue to strive to produce an internationally recognized research, learning, and outreach program, which will help to further strengthen and enhance monitoring, evaluation and impact assessments. Throughout his career he has developed and designed result monitoring, evaluation and learning strategies, including identification of performance indicators considering DCED standard, developed M&E tools and methods, performance monitoring and evaluation Plan for different development and research projects, and information management (both quantitative and qualitative). His nine peer review papers published in international journal.
