Fish Boost Incomes, Health of Poor HIV/AIDS-Affected Families in Malawi

Adding aquaculture to farms in Malawi doubled incomes and slashed the percentage of malnourished children from 45% to 15%, concludes a new study. Fish ponds are easily and inexpensively managed, helping these families cope with labor shortages caused by HIV/AIDS deaths and the intensive care of the ill.
