The Bangladesh Development Society (BDS) is a nongovernment voluntary development organization that has worked in southern Bangladesh since 1978. The mission of BDS is to develop the socioeconomic conditions of its group members and their families. The primary activities of BDS center around the organization and mobilization of disadvantaged, landless men and women, and carrying out interventions with those groups in a number of key areas, including education and training, micro-credit/micro-finance, safe drinking water and sanitation, networking, gender equality and community development.
