The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is a nonprofit, scientific facility that conducts research on global challenges for forest and landscapes management. Employing a global, multidisciplinary approach, CIFOR aims to improve human well-being, protect the environment and increase equity. CIFOR helps policymakers, practitioners and communities make decisions based on solid science about how they use and manage forests and landscapes. CIFOR believes that capacity building, collaboration and partnerships are essential to finding and implementing innovative solutions to global challenges. CIFOR is a member of the CGIAR Consortium and leads the CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry.
