The Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) is an agency established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), which serves as the  agency responsible for the development of brackish water agriculture in the country. CIBA is tasked with conducting research to develop sustainable, technologically and economically viable systems of aquaculture in India’s brackish waters. CIBA also undertakes the transfer of technology through training, education and extension programs, provides consultancy services and maintains a database on brackish water fishery resources.
