The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional; AECID) is an institution of Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation tasked with providing humanitarian aid and development assistance in over 30 countries. AECID seeks to promote policies for international cooperation and to establish new alliances, strengthening Spain’s relations with other countries and international organizations. The agency provides technical assistance, economic and financial support, and humanitarian aid and education for development and to raise social awareness. AECID has the following strategic goals: foster development and equilibrium relations, prevent and address emergency situations, promote democracy and drive relations with partner countries.
