The Oak Foundation is a group of philanthropic organizations from across the world. Established in 1983, the foundation commits its resources to address issues of global, social and environmental concern, particularly those that have a major impact on the lives of the disadvantaged. Today, the Oak Foundation has 11 programs, through which 4000 grants have been made to organizations around the world. Its six main programs are: environment, child abuse, housing and homelessness, international human rights, issues affecting women and learning differences. In all its work Oak pursues rights-based approaches, gender equality and partnership with the organizations it funds.
