Walton Family Foundation
The US-based Walton Family Foundation was established by Walmart founders Sam Walton and his wife Helen Walton in 1988. The foundation seeks to create opportunities for diverse communities, foster innovation and bring about transformational change. The Walton Family Foundation is dedicated to making a positive difference in three key areas: K-12 education; freshwater and marine conservation; and long-term economic development, arts and cultural programming and education in the Arkansas region. In 2015, the Walton Family Foundation made grants and program-related investments totaling nearly USD 375 million, addressing pressing social and environmental issues.
