The Freshwater Fisheries Resource Center (FFRC) is a satellite institution of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Science (CAFS), a leading research institution in China active in a wide variety of research areas related to aquaculture and marine and freshwater fisheries. CAFS plays an influential role in national fisheries science and management policy and supports development of fisheries engineering and technology. The primary research priorities of CAFS include resource conservation, ecology, biotechnology, genetics and breeding, disease control, aquaculture, processing, seafood quality and fisheries engineering.
