International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas
The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) promotes agricultural development in the dry areas of developing countries, and is one of 15 research centers supported by CGIAR. ICARDA focuses on the needs of resource-poor farmers, conducting research in crop management, water and land management, integrated crop-livestock-rangeland management and climate change adaptation. ICARDIA also pursues targeted interventions in the areas of water harvesting, conservation agriculture, diversification of production systems and empowerment of rural women. ICARDA has built a network of strong partnerships with national, regional and international institutions and other key stakeholders.
