Borlaug Institute for South Asia
The Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA) is an international nonprofit research institute dedicated to food, nutrition and livelihood security as well as environmental rehabilitation in South Asia. It harnesses the latest technology in agriculture to improve farm productivity by focusing on research that improves local productivity to produce more food to meet national and regional demands. Established in 2011, BISA research focuses on increasing the productivity of small farms through improved seed, mechanization and farming practices. Through country-led partnerships, the organization aims to strengthen policies for improved adoption of new technologies in a package of practices for similar ecological zones.
