The Bureau of Socioeconomic Research and Training was established in 1977 to promote research, training and extension activities of the faculty staff at the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). The bureau also provides research consultancy and advisory services for government and non-government organizations. Twice yearly, the bureau publishes The Bangladesh Journal of Agricultural Economics alongside research reports and monographs based on the research projects completed by the faculty members. BAU was established in 1961. It has six faculties and 43 departments covering all aspects of agricultural education and research.
