The Vanuatu Fisheries Department is the government body responsible for the implementation and enforcement of fisheries management laws, policies, regulations and principles under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity. The mission of the department is to ensure the sustainable management, development and conservation of fish resources to achieve maximum social and economic benefits to Vanuatu for present and future generations. The department consists of six divisions: administration, management and policies, development and capture, research and aquaculture, seafood verification and licencing and compliance.
