Dr. Ayman Anwar Ammar

Ex-officio Board Member (Egypt)

Prof. Dr. Ayman Ammar Professor at Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research (CLAR) - Agricultural Research center, EGYPT. He holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the Moscow Agricultural Academy in aquaculture (1994). With more than 37 years of experience in aquaculture, Ayman has extensive knowledge of aquaculture techniques and the aspects for enhancement fish improving fish productivity. He became a member of the Ministry of Agriculture Committee for the development of Egyptian lakes and previously had been an expert for an EU-funded project (MSSP) in Egypt to monitor, evaluate, and promote sustainable development in aquaculture. Before becoming director of CLAR he served as Chairman of the General Authority for aquaculture development (GAFRD). GAFRD, is the authority responsible all fish production in Egypt (Fisheries and Aquaculture). Ayman worked as a consultant for many private sector firms and several government projects and is a member of the permanent committee for researchers' promotions in the field of fish production. Recently he become an expert for some African Union InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources projects (AWFISHNET and FISHGOV2).
