Dr Fiona Armstrong Simmance is a Fish in Food System Scientist at World Fish working in the Resilient Small-scale Fisheries Programme. Fiona has over 10 years of experience working in the marine and inland environments globally in both the public and private sectors. Fiona specializes in livelihoods, climate adaptation, food security, socio-ecological systems and mixed methodologies for monitoring and evaluating marine environments and resource management. She has worked in fishing communities in East and Southern Africa, and her PhD was part of the leading Ecosystem Services for Poverty Alleviation ASSETS programme. At World Fish, Fiona investigates the status and value of small-scale fisheries and the role of fisheries in food systems.
