The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) is a nongovernmental organization that provides a regional forum for consultation and cooperation in research and management of fishery resources. SEAFDEC coordinates and implements research programs to support sustainable development and management of fisheries resources in SEAFDEC member countries through establishing a scientific basis and appropriate guidelines for monitoring, evaluation and advisory services, and provides training in the fields of stock assessment and fisheries management. SEAFDEC also publishes and disseminates information and research findings to member countries and regional stakeholders.
