Chuma and Sifuba’s story: Overcoming economic imbalance

Chuma and Sifuba’s story features in one of the seven real-life video case studies that are part of the Moving Forward Together guide, produced by WorldFish and Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs.

Chuma and Sifuba once believed that men and women could only do certain jobs, and thus failed to cooperate with each other on many levels. After learning that they could work together, for example by Chuma joining her husband in the fields to cut reeds, they discovered they were more productive and could earn more money by working this way.
