The recently concluded UN Food Systems Summit 2021 identified aquatic foods as one of the key priorities for realizing the commitment to improve nutrition while safeguarding the environment. 

In this virtual discussion, Global Lead for Nutrition and Public Health at WorldFish and winners of the 2021 World Food Prize and Arrell Food Innovation Award Shakuntala Thilsted presented solutions to focus on advancing research and innovation in the field of aquatic foods in the Tropics. 

She focused on innovative ways for maximizing the opportunities for these nutritious foods to meet food and nutrition security, address social inequity and improve lives and livelihoods.
