Attention CGIAR women in research and science! Are you looking for opportunities to network professionally with other women at CGIAR? Are you keen to connect with new and interesting people from across countries and other CGIAR institutions?

Date: 1 December 2022 to 31 May 2023

If so, please join us for an exciting pilot program: Random Coffee!

Happening from 1 December 2022 to 31 May 2023, Random Coffee is a way of informally linking up with colleagues. The WIRES pilot will boost micro-connections among CGIAR women in research and science, helping information flow through the organization, building solidarity and enabling participating women to grow their networks. You could end up chatting with a colleague from the Senior Leadership Team or someone from another Center, someone in your city or even across the hall.

HOW DOES RANDOM COFFEE WORK?

1. Register to participate
Use this link and register.

2. Accept the invitation
Every three weeks, registered WIRES members will receive an email with the option to accept or decline an invitation for the next match-up. Those who accept will receive an email with their match-up a couple of days later. The goal is to connect WIRES women across centers, regions and global groups.

3. Schedule a virtual (or real) coffee meeting
Once you receive your match, it’s up to you and your colleague to set up a convenient time in the coming week to have a chat for 15 to 20 minutes, using Teams, Skype or your other favorite platform. If you are unavailable to participate in this round, that’s fine. You’ll be contacted for another potential meet-up in a few weeks.

4. Get to know each other
There is no agenda, but we will provide conversation starters to get the dialogue going.

5. Repeat
Three weeks later, meet someone new. Expand your network and forge new social links across CGIAR.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN RANDOM COFFEE?

-An opportunity to create personal ties with other CGIAR women in research and science in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.

-Informal networking, information sharing and integration across CGIAR.

-Creates the circumstances for serendipity and happenchance to allow unknown outcomes from chance encounters.

What are you waiting for? Let’s give it a go and see what happens when we create micro-connections among the vibrant community of CGIAR women in research and science!
