A virtual webinar exploring the benefits of sustainable, nutritious aquatic foods in nourishing the nation of India.

In this virtual discussion hosted by the National Fisheries Development Board of the Government of India, experts in food and nutrition security, including World Food Prize Laureates from the years 2005 and 2021, M. Vijay Gupta and Shakuntala Thilsted, convened to discuss the critical role of fish and aquatic foods in improving food security and tackling the triple burden of malnutrition among the poor and marginalized groups in India.

This webinar was part of ‘Poshan Maah’, which is the annual celebration of the month of nutrition by the Government of India. The panel shared insights on the nutritional benefits of aquatic foods and presented local success stories to further incorporate nutritious aquatic foods in national dietary plans and school feeding programs as part of the healthy, sustainable dietary solutions for women and children.
