In this exciting event hosted by Devex, in collaboration with Atlas Network and IFAD, a team of reporters dug into what is on the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit agenda, interviewed experts both inside and outside the planning process, and set the stage for what success looks like for the Summit to follow.

In particular, the Devex team explored the pre-summit and summit planning process for practical and inclusive outcomes for the various stakeholders taking part, including small-scale fishers and farmers, local consumer groups and environmental activists. They also discussed the role of food system businesses, entrepreneurs and civil society in alleviating the importance of available and accessible markets for sustainable production and consumption in the food systems agenda.

On Wednesday, 14 July 2021, WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health and Vice Chair of the Summit’s Action Track 4 on ‘Advancing Equitable Livelihoods’, Shakuntala Thilsted, appeared in an expert panel on 'Resilience in Action' together with other Action Track leaders. Together, they presented the inside scoop of what is to be expected at the Pre-Summit, which included an agenda of game-changing solutions to transform food systems for healthy, more sustainable diets for all people and planet.
