The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) Biodiversity Digital Conference was a two-day event with the theme ‘One World – One Health’ to spotlight ecosystem restoration and contribute to the next global Biodiversity roadmap, advancing the global drive to ‘build back better’.

Date and Time:

  • Wednesday, 28 October 2020 - Sessions start as early as 07:30 to 21:45 (GMT+1) / 13:30 PM - 03:45 AM (UTC+8)
  • Thursday, 29 October 2020 - Sessions start as early as 08:30 to 18:30 (GMT+1) / 14:30 PM - 00:30 AM (UTC+8)

Human transformation of Earth’s landscapes is driving biodiversity loss, climate change and the emergence of pandemics such as COVID-19, which is a stark reminder of the links between human, animal and environmental health. As the world prepares to ‘build back better’, new approaches are coming to the fore as a way of balancing competing land use demands, conserving the biodiversity and restoring planetary, and human health. With global health, biodiversity and climate crises creating a world of unknowns, we still have the power to restore the Earth.

In the run-up to the UN Post-2020 Biodiversity Framework and the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021–2030, the GLF Biodiversity Digital Conference informed the global conversation on how to protect and sustainably use the variety of life forms on the planet —from seeds to sea turtles. Alongside top scientists, policymakers, indigenous groups and private sector representatives, we learned how leading organizations are uniting to transform the relationship between humans and the rest of the natural world.
