The second International Conference on Sustainable Fisheries (ICSF), hosted by the Faculty of Fisheries at Sylhet Agricultural University, aims to share thoughts and ideas on fisheries and aquaculture in Bangladesh. In partnership with WorldFish, academicians, professionals, researchers, scientists, and policymakers of the conference will share experience and knowledge to further enhance fisheries development as well as discuss and exchange ideas, views, and knowledge on emerging issues in climate, environment, social inclusion, income, food, nutrition and public health in aquatic food systems in Bangladesh and beyond. 

Among the featured guests will be WorldFish's Interim Director General and CGIAR's Acting Senior Director of Aquatic Food Systems, Essam Yassin Mohammed, and the Global Lead for Nutrition and Public Health and the 2021 World Food Prize, Shakuntala Haraksingh Thilsted, to share research and innovative pathways in nutrition-and- gender-sensitive aquatic food systems, such as small and large fish pond polyculture in rural homestead ponds, to empower poor and vulnerable small-scale fishers and fish farmers out of poverty and ensure their food and nutrition security amidst the climate crisis.
