An independent food system dialogue exploring an agenda of solutions across the five Action Tracks of the UN Food Systems Summit.

Date: Friday, 18 June 2021

Time: 19:00-21:00 (UTC+8)

In this independent food systems dialogue hosted by CGIAR, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Akademiya2063, stakeholders, researchers, policymakers and civil society representatives came together to discuss an agenda of sustainable, inclusive and resilient science for food systems policy. This was followed by a dialogue on ways to overcome challenges across the Summit’s five Action Tracks.

The second half of the panel featured policy experts and their perspectives on necessary transitions toward more sustainable food systems through accurate data and reliable scientific evidence.

WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health, Shakuntala Thilsted, joined the expert panel to draw on her expertise as Vice Chair of the Summit’s Action Track 4 on ‘Advancing Equitable Livelihoods’ and recent 2021 World Food Prize Laureate. She presented her take on priority research agenda to transform food systems with sustainable, nutrition-sensitive aquatic foods.
