In this online event hosted by Greenpeace Australia Pacific, in collaboration with Griffith University’s Climate Action Beacon, climate researchers, innovators, policymakers, civil society and activists came together to launch an upcoming report called ‘Te Mana o te Moana: the State of the Climate in the Pacific′.

The panelists provided the latest analysis of how each country is progressing toward achieving their climate goals as part of the Paris Agreement. Based on the report’s outcomes, they described urgent actions needed from nations such as Australia to scale up their emissions reduction ambitions and contribute to the decrease of earth’s temperature to below 1.5 degrees.

They shared local stories of the Pacific island people and their fight against climate disasters for the health and wellbeing of the communities and the planet.
