Diverse aquatic foods from inland waters and oceans offer game-changing solutions for transforming food systems to nourish all people and the planet. In order to capture their full potential, they must be integrated across food and nutrition agendas at national and global levels. UN Nutrition's first discussion paper on aquatic foods—with research contributions from WorldFish—informs the growing narrative on their essential role in sustainable, healthy diets.
In this virtual launch event, the discussion paper's authors presented insights followed by a panel of food and nutrition security experts and development leads to discuss shaping research, policy and investments that harness the potential of aquatic foods to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
