A learning session exploring the aquaculture management practice, specifically antimicrobial use and husbandry, to build the capacity of less developed economies.

Date: Wednesday-Thursday, 27-28 July 2022

Time: 07:30-09:45 (UTC+8)

In 2019, Chile placed sustainable growth among its priorities and identify ocean waste and pollution as an environmental challenge. This year, Malaysia highlighted production sustainability as one of its priorities in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to achieve a future of shared prosperity.

In line with this goal, research experts also believe that APEC economies must place sustainable management of the aquatic ecosystems, that underlie economy and future development, as a crucial factor for APEC to achieve long term health and wellbeing in line with the sustainable development goals.

On Thursday, 28 July 2022, WorldFish's Principal Scientist in Sustainable Aquaculture, Chadag, Vishnumurthy Mohan, will join the 2-day session to share his perspectives on improving food safety and market competitiveness through the designing, developing and scaling of responsible antimicrobial use in sustainable aquaculture production practices.
