A virtual conference exploring solutions in technology, innovations, and investments to boost the sustainability and productivity of India's fisheries and aquaculture sector.

Date: Friday, 21 January 2022

Time: 12:30-20:30 (UTC+8)

India's fisheries and aquaculture sector is considered as a sunrise sector and is poised to play a significant role in the Indian economy in near future. In the recent past, Indian fisheries have witnessed a paradigm shift from marine-dominated fisheries to inland fisheries, with the latter emerging as a major contributor to fish production. Along with the coastal states, more inland states are now entering into the aquaculture sector. However, the development in terms of its potential is yet to be realized.

In this conference organized by the Government of India's Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries, other major partners and in collaboration with WorldFish as the program partner, government leads, researchers, industry experts, business developers and private sector representatives came together to explore the potential of India's fisheries and aquaculture sector as an investment hub for the country's livelihood development and economic prosperity.
