The Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), an executive agency of the UK’s Department of Environment, Fisheries and Rural Affairs (Defra) is leading a new project ‘Embedding One Health to support aquatic food production during COVID-19’.

In this workshop organized by WorldFish in collaboration with Cefas UK, multi-sector leaders came together to discuss innovative solutions within Pillar 1 of the project for improved resilience and sustainability of aquatic food systems production in Bangladesh.

Sustainable aquaculture scientists at WorldFish joined other researchers and policy makers from national research institutions and competent authorities in Bangladesh and the United Kingdom to assess Bangladesh’s aquatic food systems from a One Health perspective and explore innovative solutions to mitigate and reduce risks and impacts amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
